Dressing up to raise money for KidsCan are East Taieri School pupils (from left) Ella Reid-Blair dressed as a ladybird, Connie Daniell dressed as Snow White, and Kellyn Outram dressed as a butterfly (all aged 5).

They were among pupils from five schools around Dunedin who joined forces with More FM and KidsCan to tackle child poverty by raising much-needed funds.

Children who attended one of the 267 participating schools across New Zealand made a gold coin donation to KidsCan. In addition, many Kiwi businesses chose to wear mufti or fancy dress for the day.

Dunedin participants were John McGlashan College, Columba College, Otago Girls' High School, East Taieri School and Taieri College pupils.
