Public feedback will be sought on funding for a Dunedin food resilience initiative.

Yesterday, it was agreed at the Dunedin City Council annual plan meeting to ask ratepayers if the current $50,000 funding for the food protection and brand enhancement programme should be continued for the 2017-18 year.

Enterprise Dunedin director John Christie said the funding would assist in establishing Dunedin as a food destination.

Public consultation is expected to take place in May.

What form this will take is yet to be decided.
