First senior citizen group

Toitu Otago Settlers Museum education staff recently hosted their first group of senior citizens, 11 women from a Balclutha Probus group.

Museum education staff had also been working with a Dunedin rest-home to host a trip to the museum for a group of residents and carers, a museum report noted.

The activities had been organised in association with the museum's Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom educational programme, but the museum had to be careful because of limited resources within the government-funded programme, a museum spokesman said.
