Fog hits flights at Dunedin Airport

Fog at Dunedin Airport is affecting flights this morning, while icy roads in the South have prompted warnings for motorists.

The airport's website is displaying a fog alert, and several flights have already been delayed and at least one cancelled.

The cool start has also prompted warnings of ice on roads around the regionand the NZ Transport Agency has reported a crash on State Highway 93 between Clinton and Mataura.

The Dunedin City Council website says there are areas of isolated frost, and great care is required by motorists.

Inland, the Queenstown Lakes District Council warns of ice in some places.
