Charis Loye (11), of Waimate, was delighted to dip into a chocolate-covered tropical treat at Otago Museum's Tropical Forest yesterday.

The Fruits of the Forest Fondue event, run by the museum as part of the Dunedin Cadbury Chocolate Carnival, was a chance for children to learn about tropical treats.

It was also a chance to smother them in chocolate and enjoy the results, which proved popular yesterday.

Museum staff said the tropical forest was ''at capacity'' as about 100 people attended the event.
