Forum will give public chance to have a say

The public will finally get to have a say on the new Dunedin Hospital.

Decisions on the location and site masterplan of the hospital - a project which will transform the central city - have largely taken place with little involvement from the wider city and region.

Now, following the recent release of the site masterplan, the general public has the chance to have a say on the multimillion-dollar development.

At a public forum, to be held in the Dunedin Public Art Gallery on March 18, Southern DHB chief executive Chris Fleming and Southern Partnership Group chairman Pete Hodgson will provide an update on the project, followed by audience questions.

"I'm sure there will be plenty of questions and we welcome the chance to have this conversation with our community,'' Mr Fleming said.

The event, which starts at 5.45pm, will be filmed, and the footage posted on the project website.
