The driver of a 10-tonne truck had a lucky escape after his vehicle rolled 15m down a steep bank near Portobello yesterday, and came to rest upside down.

A police spokeswoman said the vehicle left the road about 1.50pm on Allans Beach Rd, about 1km from Portobello. She said the driver did not appear to be injured in the incident.

The road was temporarily closed while a Reilly's tow truck was used to get the vehicle back up the bank. Police are investigating the incident.
