Grants allocated for Dunedin events

More than $500,000 has been given to major and premier events set to be held in Dunedin.


The Dunedin City Council’s’s grants subcommittee has allocated $508,700 to 11 events being held in 2018 and 2019.

This year’s funding is an increase of $40,000 from last year.

Successful grants

Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival ($33,500) 

Wild Dunedin - New Zealand Festival of Nature ($39,700)

Dunedin Marathon ($7500),

Otago Polyfest ($27,000)

New Zealand Pipe Band Championships ($20,000)

Dunedin Midwinter Carnival ($36,000)

iD Dunedin Fashion Week ($100,000)

New Zealand International Science Festival ($75,000)

Otago Rally ($60,000)

Dunedin Fringe Festival ($50,000)

Arts Festival Dunedin ($60,000).
