The Dunedin woman killed in a crash between her car and a truck last week has been named as Julie Simmonds (64).
Her name was released by police yesterday after formal identification had been carried out and next of kin notified.
She died after the crash about 11.30am last Tuesday, near Big Kuri Creek, just north of Hampden.
State Highway 1 was closed for about six hours because no detour was available.
An investigation into the crash was continuing and no further information could be released while this was under way, police said.
Police would still like to speak to any witnesses of the crash.
