An elderly woman hit by a car in Hillside Rd on Tuesday morning is in a stable condition in a general ward at Dunedin Hospital.
The 85-year-old was on a traffic-light-controlled pedestrian crossing near the intersection with Law St, when the incident occurred.
A police spokeswoman said the woman was initially placed in the high dependency unit but had since been moved to a general ward at the hospital and was expected to make a full recovery.
She said the serious crash unit was investigating but no charges had been laid.
It was unclear what led to the incident. Police were still keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident, she said.
