A Dunedin man was injured after confronting a pair of intruders who allegedly broke into his home armed with a metal pole.
Sergeant Matt Lee said police were called to a property in Russell St, Dunedin, at 12.25am yesterday.
The men, whose faces were covered, entered the property and the 42-year-old homeowner confronted them. A scuffle broke out and the man was injured.
When police arrived, the pair ran away.
Hato Hone St John took the man to Dunedin Hospital to be assessed.
