Port Chalmers residents  Graham Hutton (left) and Dave Morris receive flyers from West Harbour Community Board member Ange McErlane encouraging them to make submissions on potential uses for the century-old Sims Engineering building.

The "engagement" event at the Port Chalmers Four Square supermarket  yesterday was the first of four being  held in the township this month.

Further events will be held on August 16, from 6.30pm-7.30pm, in the Rolfe Room at Port Chalmers Library; and on August 19, from 10am-1.30pm, at the Port Chalmers Community Market.

An information display will be at the Port Chalmers Library for the entire month.

Pull it down, it's a useless ugly building, that's not even that old. There really are more important issues to waste money on.
