A 22-year-old Dunedin man is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court after a pursuit was abandoned yesterday afternoon.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnison, of Dunedin, said a police pursuit began at traffic lights in Caversham Valley about 1pm and continued over the hill at Lookout Point, to Concord.
It was abandoned in Corstorphine.
The pursuit lasted about two minutes. During the pursuit, the maximum speed of the chased car was 80kmh in a 50kmh zone.
The pursuit was abandoned because of the manner of the driving, including passing cars on corners.
Later, a member of the public called to complain about an incidence of poor driving and police found the car and driver from the pursuit, Snr Sgt Dinnison said.
The man was charged with failing to stop, driving while disqualified and driving in a dangerous manner and was due to appear in the Dunedin District Court on August 18.
