Man punches car in Dunedin road rage incident

Police are investigating a road rage incident in Dunedin this morning in which a driver allegedly punched another car.

A police spokeswoman said they were called to the scene at 11.30am.

A woman involved in the incident contacted the Otago Daily Times to say that another driver ''got out of his vehicle and physically smashed our vehicle with his fists'' on the Southern Motorway near Lookout Point.

She said the man, who was acting erratically, began following her vehicle in Calton Hill before they entered the motorway.

Police confirmed they had received a report that one person had punched a car.

There were also "some words" exchanged, she said.
