Milestone for cable car project

Colin Scoles uses his digger to prepare ground for a concrete slab that will be the foundation for an interim cable car building at Mornington Park.

The building will house three cable cars that will be on public
display.

The work is part of the Dunedin Heritage Light Rail Trust's longer-term plan to build a permanent two-storey museum which would cover a larger footprint, and one day act as the terminus for a re-established cable car route up High St from the Exchange.
