Senior MPs from the National, Labour and Green parties will front up at a free public meeting on Wednesday at the University of Otago's Dental School blue lecture theatre.

University of Otago botanist Prof Sir Alan Mark, who is also chairman of Wise Response, said a recent report ''Going Global: Pathway for New Zealand's transition to a low carbon economy'' would be presented and discussed by the three senior MPs, from 6pm.

The report, by English consultants, was commissioned by the cross-party GLOBE-NZ Group of 35 MPs from all seven current political parties, he said.

The speakers are Dr Kennedy Graham, Green Party spokesman on climate change and convener of the GLOBE-NZ Group, David Parker, Labour's spokesman on the environment, and Stuart Smith, National's MP for Kaikoura, and member of the Bluegreen Group.
