A woman was rescued after being caught in a rip near Lawyers Head, in Dunedin, last night, police say.
The incident happened about 8.10pm.
A police spokesman said the woman was ‘‘safely brought back to shore’’ at St Kilda by a life guard, and no injuries were reported.
However, St Kilda Surf Life Saving club members said last night none of their guards was involved.
