One seriously hurt after car rolls on motorway

A person was seriously hurt when their car rolled on Dunedin's Northern Motorway this morning.

A police spokeswoman said they were notified of the crash  - near Pigeon Flat Rd - just before 7am.

The car was upside down and the single occupant was trapped until emergency services personnel freed them using cutting equipment.

A St John spokesman said the person was taken to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries.
