The next step in rugby matches being played at the Forsyth Barr Stadium occurred yesterday when the rugby goalposts were put up.

The new goalposts, the standard 17m high for a stadium, were erected within an hour.

Carisbrook Stadium Trust chairman Malcolm Farry said the posts went in well and it was another sign of progress at the stadium.

The posts can be taken down in about 20 minutes.

With the first game of the stadium just over two weeks away, the next step was to mark out the ground.

The first competitive match at the stadium will be between North Otago and West Coast, on August 7.
