Pedestrian hit by car in Caversham

Emergency services rushed to the Dunedin suburb of Caversham where a pedestrian was hit by a car this morning.

A police spokeswoman said they were called to the incident at the intersection between South Rd and Ftizroy St just after 9am.

One person was taken to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

A reporter at the scene said three police cars and one ambulance went to the crash.

St John ambulance left the scene with a patient about 9.25am.

Police earlier said a cyclist was involved in the crash, but later said a pedestrian was hit.
