In the pink

Enjoying a night out at the Dunedin Pink Youth Ball on Saturday evening are (from left) Meg Rogers (15), Dante Dawes (15), Sacha McConnon (16) and Sophie Masters (15).

Now in its second year, the ball was a safe space where LGBTQIA+ high school pupils in Otago and their friends could have a fun night out, Pride youth co-ordinator and University of Otago student Tee Bouttier-Esprit said.

"It's something I wish I'd had."

About 80 people attended the event, which was held at the Otago Museum.
