Pop star Pink has touched down in Dunedin yesterday evening ahead of her concert in the city tomorrow night.

The 'So What' singer landed at Dunedin Airport in a private jet for one show in the city on her The Beautiful Trauma World Tour.

Pink held her 1-year-old son, Jameson, as she made her way down the stairs off the jet into a chilly Dunedin evening.

Organisers yesterday said more than 37,000 tickets had been sold for the concert at Forsyth Barr Stadium, making it one of the largest for the venue.

The show clocks in at more than two hours and features dancing and aerial acrobatics.

Meanwhile, the NZ Transport Agency is warning of heavy traffic as fans make their way to Dunedin for the concert.

The NZTA said in a media release that unlike Ed Sheeran, who played three concerts earlier in the year, Pink was performing one show only,  which should serve to limit the number of extra vehicles on the road.

"Nonetheless, we are expecting more drivers on the road heading south (and north on Sunday) than we would normally expect on a non-holiday weekend.

"We advise that motorists plan their journeys and keep an eye on the weather before they head off."

Following her Dunedin show, Pink will head to Auckland to play a massive run of six shows at Spark Arena.

She hasn't posted to social media yet but some of her entourage have including her bassist Eva Gardner who posted a beautiful snap simply saying: "YAY New Zealand!"

Pink's husband, former professional freestyle moto x rider, Carey Hart is keeping busy too.

He announced on Instagram that he is racing at the New Zealand Veteran and Women's Motocross Championship today.

He also posted some beautiful Kiwi scenery on his way to the event today.

Pink's arrival in New Zealand follows a troubled Australian leg of the tour, during which the 38-year-old singer was plagued by illness, resulting in several Sydney concerts being rescheduled for next month.

Her son Jameson was also diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth disease. Earlier this week, the singer's husband Carey Hart revealed on Instagram that Jameson was experiencing painful symptoms, including a rash, and that the couple's daughter Willow, seven, also had a high temperature.
