Indpendant living facility Abbeyfield Dunedin is celebrating its 10-year anniversary and a recent transition to new funding model.
To celebrate, it is putting on a ticketed function on Sunday at the Fortune Theatre in Dunedin.
Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull will join residents and supporters for a performance of Roger Hall's play Last Legs.
Abbeyfield recently moved to a rental model, meaning residents do not need to invest capital to live there.
Abbeyfield chairman Alan Somerville said the facility enjoyed great support from the community for the recent fundraising drive to assist the transition.
''We are certainly not on our last legs - quite the opposite - we're celebrating being full and thriving.''
