A police investigation is continuing after a man was shot at a house in Maitland St, Dunedin.
Police yesterday confirmed a man had been shot in the leg with an air rifle on Thursday night.
They had ''positive leads'' in their search for the offender but had not yet made an arrest, a spokesman said.
Police and ambulance staff were called to the house about 11.30pm on Thursday.
Inquiries into the incident had been hampered by the large number of staff involved in investigations into a fatal stabbing at Waldronville on Friday night, the spokesman said.
The name and age of the victim were not available.
