Dunedin car fire arson: police

Police are looking for an arsonist after a car was set alight on a suburban Dunedin street this morning.

Emergency services were called to Mooltan St, Halfway Bush, at 6.30am while a 2008 Nissan Dualis parked on the road burned.

Police said they were treating the fire as an arson and urged anyone with information to come forward.

The fire was extinguished by members of the fire service.

A fire service investigator carried out a scene investigation and police said they were making further inquiries.

They wanted to speak to anyone “who was in the vicinity at that time and saw the incident or noticed anything suspicious”.
