Fake pistol used in Dunedin dairy robbery

Two youths will appear in court tomorrow after an aggravated robbery at a South Dunedin dairy last night.

The youths, armed with a fake pistol, entered the Balmoral Dairy on Hillside Rd at 7.30pm and stole cash, Fairfax reports.

The two fled, but were apprehended soon after, police said.

The pair will appear in Dunedin Youth Court tomorrow morning.

Police want to hear from a witness seen inside the shop before the incident.

He was described as Maori or Pacific Islander, medium build with black hair. He bough a mixture bag of lollies before leaving.
