Man charged for Dunedin thefts, burglaries

Dunedin Police are seeking the owners of a number of items believed to have been stolen from local properties.

On August 1, a man riding a scooter on Albany St was stopped by police and found to have several suspicious items on him.

The man is believed to have unlawfully entered properties in the area between July 1 and August 1.

Police searched his property, and found items including watches, ornaments, jewellery, and a Kindle.

Pocket watches, commemorative coins, cameras, wallets, a mobile phone and a Cambodian lighter were also found.

Police would like Dunedin people to check their property for missing items.

A 26-year-old man will in the Dunedin District Court on October 13 in relation to thefts and burglaries.
