Private club burgled

Police are looking for a verbally "aggressive" man who burgled an exclusive club in Dunedin yesterday.

Senior Sergeant Steve Larking, of Dunedin, said The Dunedin Club in Melville St was burgled just after 4am.

When a club ‘‘key-holder’’ arrived, a man was seen crouching behind the bar.

"The man yelled aggressively at the key-holder."

The man left the club through a door.

The key-holder was not touched and nothing was taken, Snr Sgt Larking said.

Police dogs were deployed but failed to find the man.

The man was described as being of medium height and build, wearing a hoodie or a balaclava, carrying a bag and possibly wearing gloves.
