Five youths have been referred to Youth Aid and another youth will appear in the Dunedin District Court this week, after a spate of burglaries in North Dunedin.
Senior Sergeant Chris George, of Dunedin, said the six youths were being spoken to in relation to the burglary of several unsecured student flats on April 9.
No charges had been laid yet, and the youths were assisting in the recovery of property taken from the flats.
It was a timely reminder for students to keep their doors locked and valuables out of sight, Snr Sgt George said.
