The concert is a major undertaking for the DSO. The main piece for the evening, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, demands a massed choir, orchestra and three soloists.
Conductor Marc Taddei last night drilled the performers — the orchestra, City Choir Dunedin, Southern Youth Choir and singers from Dunedin youth choirs, plus soloists Natasha Wilson, Choo, and James Clayton.
Also on the programme are extracts from Bizet’s L’Arlesienne. The concert is at the town hall tonight, and starts at 7.30.
