Dunedin supermarkets have enacted a suite of changes to ensure staff safety and customer comfort during the Covid-19 Alert Level 4 lockdown.
The Otago Daily Times yesterday visited eight Dunedin supermarkets to find no two stores had identical policies in place but all were catering to life under the lockdown.

At New World Gardens in Opoho Rd a short queue was greeted by a staff member who sprayed hand sanitiser on customers’ hands as they entered the store.
New World Centre City closed its street access doors in Cumberland St to manage store numbers as a queue of 20 customers formed indoors through the mall access that was open yesterday afternoon.
At Dunedin's Pak'n Save the queue stretched about 30 customers deep.
At Countdown Dunedin South, queues for cashiers and other shoppers were separated by cones and barriers; at the self checkout, customers were offered treat-sized chocolate bars after paying.
At Countdown Mailer St, hand sanitiser, wipes or gloves were offered to shoppers on entry and cashiers wearing gloves used hand sanitiser to clean their gloves between customers.
At Countdown Andersons Bay, sanitiser and cloths were available to clean trolley handles on entry.
At FreshChoice Roslyn all staff wore face masks and signs advertised special hours 8am to 9am on Monday to Friday for Gold Card members, medical staff and people with health difficulties only.
