A search has been launched for a 12-year-old boy who has gone missing from Dunedin.

Kadafi Pritchard was last seen in Anderson's Bay, in the city, at around 7.40pm yesterday, police said.
He was wearing khaki shorts, a white sweater with a zip, red socks and no shoes, police said. He is of Maori descent, has a thin build and is 140cm tall.
It was believed Kadafi was still in the Dunedin area, but could be making his way north to Christchurch, police said.
The boy should not be approached, police said, asking anyone who saw him to call police.
