Hoping for a good result ahead of the auction of a signed Silver Ferns top are Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust secretary Vivienne Seaton and Silver Ferns performance analyst Hayden Croft, along with son Ben (2).

The auction of the top, signed by the team's players and management on the day of the World Cup final this year, will take place at an event to be held at tonight at Bear Park Early Childcare Centre in Hobson St, St Clair, Dunedin, part of an annual fundraiser.

Proceeds from the sale will go towards the trust.

Chairman Martin Dippie said ongoing community support for the trust would be required to keep air ambulance services running in the region.

''There is strong growth in the hours flown so the challenge of fundraising is ongoing.

''This is a great problem to have.''
