A 14-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with minor injuries after being hit by a car in the Dunedin suburb of Musselburgh this morning.

A police spokesman said they were called to reports of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian at the corner of Tainui Rd and Ravelston St at 8.48am.

St John was also called and transported the boy to the Dunedin Hospital emergency department with minor injuries.

Police were still at the scene at 9.15am.

This followed another accident that happened this morning on the corner of Forbury Rd and Hillside Rd in Caversham.

Police said they were called to a two-car crash about 8.10am. Both cars needed to be towed.
