Test puts $9.3m into city economy

The recent  Bledisloe Cup test in Dunedin injected $9.3 million into the city’s  economy, Dunedin Venues Management Ltd says.

DVML said the August test at Forsyth Barr Stadium attracted about 16,337 visitors to Dunedin.

Of people who attended the game, 40% were from Dunedin and 60% were from regional, national and international locations. A survey of visitors showed the test  was the primary reason for coming.

The average expenditure of those who responded  was $568.
