Emergency services are investigating after a "suspicious" early-morning fire involving a Tip Top truck in Dunedin.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman said firefighters were called to the blaze at the intersection of Eglington Rd and Peel St, in the suburb of Mornington, about 5am today.

No one was hurt and the fire appeared to be suspicious, she said.

A fire investigator is at the scene this morning.

Police said they were also making inquiries.
