Toddler's tiny finger freed after Dunedin rescue

If you’re 18 months old and you put your finger into a bath drain hole, there can be complications.

Dunedin firefighters yesterday spent about 30 minutes using hand tools to delicately free that finger, after being called to a Sawyers Bay home at 5.17pm, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said.

Port Chalmers volunteer firefighters and other firefighters from the Willowbank fire station attended, the spokesman said.
