People are being asked to stay away from a series of popular tracks in Dunedin that remain closed after last week’s sustained rainfall.
They were closed as a result of flood washouts and potential contamination, the Dunedin City Council said.
A few road closures also remained.
At the height of the rain, Dunedin had a total of 44 road closures as a result of flooding, slips and debris.
This was down to four yesterday, recovery response manager Rob West said.
Two were expected to reopen in the coming days.
"Some of the road closures have been more complex than others, due to their placement and impact on the road," Mr West said.
"We understand road disruptions have been frustrating for some members of the community and thank them for their patience," Mr West said.
Pipe repairs on Otago Peninsula and temporary pipes at West Harbour were holding up well, he said.
The final collection of sandbags from street verges would happen on Monday, Mr West said.
Skip bins made available for households in the South Dunedin, Tomahawk and Waikouaiti flood-affected areas were removed yesterday.
The skip at Aramoana Domain would be removed after the weekend.
