Two-year-olds Ashton Lang (left) and Dylan Halverston-Davis were among about 250 preschoolers who took a ride to Palmerston on the Taieri Gorge train yesterday as part of the Dunedin Community Childcare Association's end-of-year trip.
Organiser Jo Ellis, president of the Dunedin branch of the New Zealand Childcare Association, said the annual train trip had been running for nearly 30 years, and was as popular as ever.
Twelve carriages made the journey yesterday, and another eight carriages are scheduled to do the round trip to Palmerston today.
