Truck crash cuts power to suburb

Power was out temporarily to houses in the suburb of Kaikorai after a truck crashed into a power pole in Greenock St, near Kaikorai Kindergarten, yesterday  morning.

Emergency services were called shortly before 9am and the truck driver was believed to have escaped without injury.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. An Aurora Energy spokesman said he understood about 70 customers were affected.

About 3.30pm the company said on its Facebook page power had been completely restored.
