A witness at the scene said the crash happened in Macandrew Rd near the intersection with Broughton St this afternoon.
One person was taken from the scene in a St John ambulance.
Traffic was still flowing in Macandrew Rd.
Emergency services were still at the scene as of just after 3.30pm.
A St John spokeswoman said one person was taken to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries.
