The reopening of the St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool has been delayed due to the inclement weather this week.

The pool was scheduled to open today.

Dunedin City Council aquatic services team leader Heath Ellis said he was confident the clean-up would not take too long.

"We were all ready for the October 1 opening, but the high winds have caused some flooding. We will advise the new opening date as soon as possible."

The pool will be open weekdays from 6am to 7pm and weekends 7am to 7pm, until March 31.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
