Former University of Otago pharmacy student and now pharmacist Diana Phone  receives an honorary white coat from  dean of pharmacy Prof Carlo Marra during the department’s white-coat ceremony on Saturday.

The ceremony marks the transition of health science students into their first year of full-time pharmacy study.

Since 2011 every first-year pharmacy student is presented with a white coat to mark the transition and this year motivational cards from former students who were now professional pharmacists were included in the presentation.
