Dunedin police have shared an image of two men who may have witnessed an early morning assault last month in the hopes they will come forward.

Police said on social media today the men, pictured in CCTV footage, may have witnessed an assault on George St which took place about 3.30am on Saturday, December 14.

They want the men to come forward to determine whether they can help with their inquiries.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to injure in relation to the incident.

They, or anyone else who may have relevant information, were urged to call Police on 105 quoting file number 191216/0284.
