Woman arrested over Warrington incident

Police arrested a 34-year-old woman at the Warrington Domain, north of Dunedin, last night after ''erratic'' behaviour, initially involving driving at the domain.

She later apparently began cutting a tent with a knife, and police were alerted at 8pm.

Police said she was charged with assaulting police and possession of a weapon, understood to be a knife.

Senior Sergeant James Ure, of the Southern District Command Centre, said an officer from Palmerston and a dog handler from Dunedin attended the incident.

The woman was brought to Dunedin.
