Ground has been broken recently at the site of the new Mosgiel swimming pool at Memorial Park.

The facility will have four water spaces (lap, learners, toddlers and hydrotherapy) and a spa pool.

All will be accessible to people with disabilities.

The car park will include charging stations for e-vehicles and e-bikes.

Planning consent is expected to be granted any day.

The Dunedin City Council expects to be able to provide more information this week.

Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2022.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
