Heavy rain has caused scouring and debris to build up on George King Memorial Dr, near Lee Stream.

Traffic management and speed restrictions will remain in place while the damaged road surface is repaired.

Dunedin City Council transport group manager Jeanine Benson said heavy rain from January 1 to 3 caused the minor damage.

"Contractors are working to repair the damage and have temporary traffic management measures in place as required," she said.
