They probably did not need a roof on the nicest day of the junior club rugby season so far, on Saturday, but playing at Forsyth Barr Stadium was still ''awesome'' and ''way better'' than being outside, Dunedin's junior players reckoned.
Although one young lad thought it was a tad on the warm side, his mum thought being in the stadium was great because she did not need to lug gumboots or an umbrella with her to the sideline, as was usually required.
''We love it,'' she said. The use of the stadium for the day was offered to the Otago Rugby Football Union as part of Dunedin Venues' community sport programme.
Otago Daily Times photographer PeterMcIntosh called at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Saturday to capture some of the under-11 and under-13 action at the venue.
