$4.5m Lotto prize sold in Tauranga

A Tauranga lotto player is $4.5 million richer after winning Powerball's First Division last night.

The winning ticket was sold at Greerton Lotto in Tauranga and was made up of $4 million from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.

"This win makes the first two months of 2015 some of the luckiest ever for our Lotto Powerball and Big Wednesday players," Lotto spokeswoman Emilia Mazur said.

"With six of our players becoming multi-millionaires within the space of six weeks, it's an incredible winning streak."

Another winning Lotto First Division ticket was sold at Jellicoe Court Bookstore in Auckland.

Strike Four jackpotted and will be worth $300,000 in next week's draw.

Ian and Robyn from Papamoa spun the Winning Wheel and won $100,000 on the live Lotto draw.

This week's Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Countdown Petone in Lower Hutt. The winning serial number is 456-20879914-20XX.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy.
