Armed robbery at KFC restaurant

Auckland police are investigating an armed robbery at a KFC outlet at Papatoetoe, early today.

Inspector Kerry Watson of northern police communications said shortly before 1am two males, one armed with a long barrelled gun, had left the restaurant with a sum of money.

The offenders were described as dark skinned, one large build and the other slim, and both wearing blue hooded jackets.

They left on foot towards East Tamaki Road.

Mr Watson said police were after information of people and vehicles acting suspiciously about 1am in the nearby area.
